How To Stay Young … in Garnethill

The Casting producer of a new series of a BBC One show called How to Stay Young has approached our wee Garnethill Community in Glasgow to see if any of us would potentially be interested in taking part in a new series of their show.

htsy-flyerHere is a brief explanation of the show and what we are looking to do.

BBC One’s How To Stay Young is back. This time the shows presenters Angela Rippon and Dr Chris Van Tulleken are on a mission to find out how we can make ourselves both look and feel younger so that we can live longer healthier lives.

Would you say you are ageing well? Do you think you look your age? Did you know that what we look like on the outside doesn’t always reflect how our body is functioning on the inside. Lifestyle, diet, and genes play a huge part in how you age. In fact, the date on your birth certificate doesn’t tell scientists nearly as much as your Biological Age. We are all getting older but we don’t all have to feel as old as we sometimes do.

It’s not too late! The How to Stay Young team are looking for a group of 8-10 people to show how you can turn back the clock and feel younger. Using the latest scientific research on ageing, we are going to create a bespoke lifestyle plan to help everyone get their bodies back on track by attempting to slow down the ageing process. Our aim is to show our lucky groups how to bring their biological age more in line with their DOB in just 12 weeks.

So, we are looking for a group of 8-10 people from the same community how could enjoy and benefit from being part of the show. The age range we are looking at would ideally be between 35-70 with a good mix of backgrounds and personalities. I suppose what is key, is that we people who will motivate and support each other through the process and also be willing adopt and enjoy the lifestyle changes.

It’s a really fab programme and I really believe that is would be an amazing project for any community to be involved in. So please do pass on this info to anyone you think may be interested. We are going to be looking to speak to anyone who is interest in the first couple weeks in January with the view to start the project in February. Ideally it would be great to speak to people as soon as possible (isn’t it always the way!)

Here is the link to clips from the last series, which is slightly different in terms of content as it doesn’t include the community element but our show will be the same in terms of tone. We want this to be a warm and positive show that inspires and empowers.

If you need any further info just let me know and I will get it straight over to you.
Finally, I have attached a flyer and a jpg of the flyer in case you would like to share it on social media or send it on to anyone else.

Thank you for your time and have a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year!

Many thanks
