Grim news for 134 Renfrew Street Development

We’ve just been informed that the plan to develop student accommodation at 134 Renfrew St. has been approved by the narrowest of margins by the Planning Application Committee.

  • To refuse the application – 7
  • To approve the application – 8
  • Abstention – 1

This is a disappointing outcome for residents, the community council, and everyone who helped campaign against this ill-conceived plan, ever since it was first soundly rejected in May 2010. The only silver lining is that the cooperation and collaboration of the community reminded us once again, no matter how bad this news is today, that we live in a great part of Glasgow.
