Walkabout May 2011

An emerging Garnethill tradition is the annual walkabout. This is a great opportunity to walk the streets of the local area with city councillors, community councillors and residents, and identify new issues and highlight recurring problems. Previous years have had positive results, however there’s usually something new to deal with.

City Councillors Nina Baker, Philip Braat and Craig Mackay came along to advise and record some of the problems that we have identified. Several key areas of focus were the Garnethill Park (lighting and play area provision), trash abandoned on footpaths, and several plots of land that could be better used. A set of photographs from the walkabout is available here.
